Do you think the United States should sell some of its valuables and donate the money to people in need?

The sick, the homeless, refugees of war, etc.? Surely some private collector would pay a pretty penny for the Spirit of St. Louis and Lincoln’s top hat.

NO! Why is it always the USA of whom these “demands” are made? Why shouldn’t FRANCE or CHINA or Japan, or Egypt, or Australia, or India… or WHATEVER other country be asked such a thing?

Then, you HAVE to remember that JUST as Christ said so long ago, “The poor you will have with you always.” That doesn’t negate our responsibility (especially a CHRISTIAN responsibility) to help the poor.

Then, why is it the role of any GOVERNMENT to do so? Believe it or not, CHARITABLE institutions actually give MORE money and resources to aid the poor of other countries (and our OWN by the way!) than the US government spends in its entire budget!

The Spirit of St Louis? You would have us sell off our cultural heritage? FORGET IT! Such things belong to our entire nation… the PEOPLE of the nation own these things, NOT the government. The government is merely the “caretaker.” Should we sell off parcels of Yellowstone, or how about Denali? We don’t NEED California, DO WE? Let’s sell the state… no wait… it’s in debt… no one would want to buy it.

Sorry, but your premise is untenable, inappropriate, unfeasible, and plainly INEFFECTIVE! It wouldn’t WORK.

Have a blessed day.
