Homeless Again

Children fall asleep at night
Out in the falling rain
Stomachs hurt from emptiness
While hearts are filled with pain
All hope seems to vanish
With each passing day
Innocence soon disappears
Trust is washed away

Homeless again
When will it end?
So much pain to bear
Doesn’t anybody care?
Homeless again

Mothers doing what it takes
To try and make ends meet
It’s really hard to face each day
Living on the street
Trying to raise their children up
To know right from wrong
“Soon things will get better”
Becomes just the same old song

Homeless again
When will it end?
So much pain to bear
Doesn’t anybody care?
Homeless again

Children live in motel rooms
That we would not go near
Darkness falls and joyful play
Is soon replaced with fear
But Jesus has a home for us
We need to let them know
Where only His love satisfies
And peaceful waters flow

Never homeless again
Someday it will end
No more pain to bear
‘Cause Jesus really cares
Never homeless again

Homeless again
Someday it will end
No more pain to bear
‘Cause Jesus will be there
Never be homeless, homeless
Never be homeless again
